Man (50s) killed after his car collided with another

A MAN has been killed in a road traffic collision.

The man in his 50s was fatally injured in the road traffic collision in Limerick on Saturday evening.

The man was the driver of a car which was involved in a collision with another car on the R524 at Coole West, Athea, Co. Limerick at about 9.30pm. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the second car was uninjured. A Garda investigation is underway to establish the cause of the crash and the road at the scene remains closed to facilitate a forensic technical examination of the area.
