Man (39) shot in leg and upper body when he answered his front door


A 39 year-old man was shot a number of times in the upper body and his leg last night in Slane Co. Meath.

He was shot when he answered his front door at home.

Gardaí in Slane Co Meath are investigating a shooting incident which occurred at a house at Dowth, Slane, Co Meath at around 9.45pm yesterday.

The injured man was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where he is currently being treated for his injuries.

His injuries are are not thought to be life threatening.

The scene of the shooting is currently preserved pending a Garda technical examination.
