Man (32) killed in row over woman
Gardai believe a man who was killed in Tallaght, Co Dublin, during the early hours of yesterday morning was stabbed after a row over a woman.
Graham McKeever (32) was discovered unconscious with multiple stab wounds outside an apartment block in Deerpark Avenue when gardai arrived at the scene shortly after 4.30am yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the scene but pronounced Mr McKeever dead a short time later.
Locals said he had been living at the apartment block, near Kiltipper Road, with a woman and a child.
A woman who was physically assaulted during the attack was treated for injuries that were described last night as non-life threatening.
The scene was sealed off yesterday for a full technical examination and for the State Pathologist to carry out an investigation.
Gardai are now following a definite line of inquiry but no arrests have been made yet.
They believe a man broke in to the property yesterday and violently assaulted Mr McKeever who tried to make his escape.
However, the victim was caught outside the apartment block and stabbed repeatedly before the killer made his escape.
Gardai said the woman who was injured during the assault was known to both the victim and the attacker.
"Emergency services were alerted to an incident at a house on Deerpark Avenue and arrived at the scene at approximately 4.40am. There they found an unresponsive male with suspected stab wounds," a garda spokesperson said yesterday.
"The office of he State Pathologist has been contacted. The area has been sealed off and a full technical examination will be carried out over the weekend.
"No arrests have been made at this time and investigations are ongoing."
