A man is in serious condition in intensive care after sustaining head injuries during an assault outside a Dublin pub.
The man, aged in his 30s, was assaulted at around 2am on Sunday morning on Blanchardstown Main Street and was rushed by ambulance to Connolly Hospital.
It is understood that he suffered head injuries in the attack but is thought to be responding well to treatment.
A man was arrested by gardaí but was released without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Gardaí in Blanchardstown are investigating and anyone with information is asked to come forward.
In a statement gardaí said:
"Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses. They are particularly appealing to anyone who may have been socialising in the area, purchasing food in nearby take-away outlets or to taxi drivers working in the area at the time of the incident to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on (01) 666 7000 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111."
