Two people have lost their lives in separate road traffic collisions overnight.
Both incidents happened on the N25 dual-carriageway between Waterford and Wexford in the early hours of the morning.

In the first incident a female pedestrian was fatally injured after a car collided with her on the Wexford to Rosslare Road, on the outskirts of Wexford Town.
The collision occurred at approximately 1.30am. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, but the identity and age of the deceased have not yet been positively identified by gardai.

The woman’s body has been removed to the mortuary at Wexford General Hospital. The sole occupant of the vehicle, a 21-year-old male, was uninjured in the collision.
The road is currently closed as garda forensic experts carry out examinations.

Gardai are investigating a separate fatal traffic collision which also occurred on the N25 road, at Glenmore, Co Kilkenny.
The single vehicle incident happened at approximately 3am this morning.
A 22-year-old man was seriously injured after the car he was driving struck a ditch.
The man was transferred to Waterford General Hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
The road is also closed to facilitate garda forensic examinations.
The two fatalities bring to 66 the number of Irish people who have been killed on Irish roads so far this year. The number is significantly lower in comparison to this time last year, when 81 people were fatally injured on Irish roads.
