Man (19) in a serious condition after being stabbed multiple times

A 19-year-old north Dublin man is in serious condition in hospital after he was stabbed early yesterday morning.

The victim was found by gardaí after he staggered into a garden in Batterstown, Co Meath, at around 4am.

He had been stabbed multiple times including in the chest, leg and buttocks.

The stabbed man is from Balbutcher Lane in Ballymun.

Once emergency services were notified, the teenager was rushed to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where his condition is understood to be serious, but stable.

There has been no arrest in the case and gardaí are investigating the incident, which is classified as "assault causing harm", and are appealing for witnesses to contact Ashbourne garda station with any information.

It's understood that he is known to gardaí.
