Male pedestrian killed in early morning road traffic collision

Gardai have issued an appeal for information after a male pedestrian aged in his 40s was fatally injured earlier this morning.

The man was hit by a car, which stopped, close to Balrath Cross on the N2 in county Meath.

It is understood the accident happened  at about 6.50am.

Gardai in Navan confirmed they want to hear from anyone who saw the pedestrian, or have any other information relating to what happened, to contact them.

The N2 remains closed between Balrath Cross and Porter’s Cross with diversions in place.
