Major tailbacks in Dublin due to 'larger volume of vehicles' on roads
TRAFFIC is particularly heavy in Dublin city centre this evening, with several accidents and rain contributing to delays.
Traffic lights were out of order in Rathmines which saw delays on one of the main artery routes into the south of the city.
Traffic is also reported to heavy around the North Circular road, with many motorists experiencing long delays.
A crash near Booterstown also slowed traffic on the N11, however this has now been cleared. Traffic is still delayed in the area.
AA roadwatch have said there is no major incident in the city, there is just a large volume of vehicles on the road.
Large areas of the docklands are closed for the Mark Pollock 'run in the dark', which has seen bus routes and commuters diverted from the area.
Heavy rain at the beginning of the rush hour period is also believed to have contributed to the tailbacks.
