Major search continues for missing man

A major search is continuing today for a man who was reported missing when he didn’t return home from work yesterday evening.

The man’s car was found parked at Brownstown Head near Tramore in Co Waterford.

A major search is underway along the coast from Tramore to Dunmore-East.

Volunteers from the Coast Guard and Tramore Cliff Rescue are conducting a search along with family members and the public.

The new S92 Coast Guard helicopter has been tasked and gardaí are also involved in the search.

The man, who is in late 40s and has a wife and children, is from the local area and works with Waterford County Council.

The search continued until after 1am this morning before being called off for the night, and it resumed at first light today.
