Major disruption to services after 'serious incident' on rail line

RAIL passengers are facing serious delays this evening following a serious incident on the line near Coolmine in Dublin.

Maynooth/Sligo services are currently suspended and passengers are being asked not to go to Connolly station, due to overcrowding fears.

The incident happened at around 3pm.

Services resumed shortly after 5pm. Irish Rail have said they expect delays to gradually clear over the evening.

Luas passengers are also experiencing disruption on the red line.

Following an incident at Belgard, the service is only operating from the Red Cow and Connolly.

A replacement coach service will operate between the Red Cow and Tallaght for the duartion.

Meanwhile several collisions have caused delays on the M50.

An incident just before Junction 6 Blanchardstown is blocking the auxiliary lane.

Meanwhile a collision at the offramp to the N7 northbound is causing delays back to Junction 10.
