Services on the Green LUAS line were temporarily delayed this evening after a teenage boy brushed against a moving tram.

The 13-year-old boy had “minor contact” with the city-bound tram at The Gallops stop in Sandyford, a Transdev spokeswoman confirmed.

The driver stopped the tram and an ambulance was called as a precaution, she said.

However the incident is “being treated as very minor” and it’s understood the boy was not seriously injured and didn't require hospital treatment.

Service on the line was disrupted for about 15 minutes but resumed afterwards.

It’s not clear whether the boy was on a mobile phone or otherwise distracted.
