FRIDAY evening commuters experienced delays for a time this evening following a violent incident beside a Luas track.

Luas services were halted between Abbey Street and the point due to the incident, which occurred under the railway bridge at Beresford place just after 4pm.

Witnesses told Independent.ie that two men became involved in a scuffle before one ended up lying on the tracks.

Emergency services were alerted and one man was arrested at the scene.

Another man has been removed to hospital, it is understood .
