Lotto and Euromillions winners still a mystery

Edel O'Connell

TWO lucky punters said goodbye to the recession when they became multi-millionaires over the weekend.

But the winners, who scooped €4.5m in Friday night's Euromillions draw and €3.8m in Saturday night's Lotto draw, are yet to be identified.

The Euromillions winner was one of six across the continent who missed out by just one number on scooping the €185m Euro jackpot. But he or she won't be feeling too hard done by, as the ticket -- bought in Doran's Foodmarket in Drumfinn Park, Ballyfermot -- is still worth €4,576,071.

Meanwhile rumours were rife in Westport, Co Mayo yesterday as to the identity of the winner of Saturday night's €3.8m Lotto jackpot draw. The €16 winning ticket was bought in Kenny's, Bridge St, in Westport, Co Mayo.
