Look what's new in the zoo
DUBLIN Zoo has welcomed the newest resident of its South American House, writes Sam Griffin.
The month-old, white-faced saki, which has yet to be named, was born on April 30 but only ventured out into his new surroundings yesterday. The rare primate weighs just 150g.
Dublin Zoo team leader Eddie O'Brien said the infant will stay close to his mother in the short term but will soon become more independent. White-faced sakis are not endangered animals but are limited to the tropical forests of Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela.
