Leinster boss shows love of Munster
LEINSTER team manager Guy Easterby was subjected to a few lighthearted quips at his wedding reception as he tied the knot with a Munster woman.
Many of the Leinster stars lined out as English-born Mr Easterby, who represented Ireland on 28 occasions and gained 64 Leinster caps as a player, wed his fiancee Laurie McGann, from Clarina, Limerick, at a ceremony in Kirkby Wharfe, Yorkshire.
Among the guests at the reception at Mr Easterby's family farm were Leo Cullen and his wife Dairine Kennedy, and Brian O'Driscoll, minus his actress wife Amy Huberman who was suffering from a cold, as well as former rugby player Kevin Maggs.
It is definitely wedding season for the Leinster crew as they were fresh from teammate Gordon D'Arcy's recent wedding to model Aoife Cogan at St Macartan's Cathedral in Monaghan.
Laurie, who works in television and film production, wore a stunning creation by Anoushka G, purchased in designer Kathy de Stafford's bridal wear salon on Exchequer Street, Dublin. The couple met at Dublin night spot Lillie's Bordello seven years ago.
Mr Easterby's best man was his brother Simon Easterby, another former rugby star who now coaches at Scarlets in Wales.
The brothers were eligible to line-out for Ireland as their mother, Catherine Doyle, originally hails from Dublin.
Meanwhile, model agent Andrea Roche tied the knot with fiance Rob White, a brother of actress Holly White, in Ibiza yesterday.
They got engaged after Mr White proposed to Ms Roche at the Eiffel Tower just before Christmas.
Glamorous guests at the wedding on the sunshine island included models Pippa O'Connor and Rozanna Purcell.
It is understood the former Miss Ireland, who is believed to have wore a Vera Wang dress, was eager to keep the wedding private. This is in contrast to her lavish wedding in 2006 to City West developer Jim Mansfield's son PJ when photographs and details of the wedding were widely reported.
