He was one of the most infamous rulers of England, and now the demonised monarch Richard III will travel to Ireland.

The 'Richard III Discovered' exhibition, complete with 3D replica of his remains, will form part of the 20th Galway Science and Technology Festival.

The team behind the Greyfriars project will tell how they discovered and identified the remains under a council car park in Leicester in 2012.

It will show how the combination of genetics, genealogy, archaeology, history, forensics and some real-life CSI was used in solving the mystery of the king lost for 500 years.

The free event will take place in NUI, Galway and the Galway Shopping Centre over three days from Friday. For tickets, visit www.galwaysicence.eventbrite.ie.
