Gardaí have dealt a major blow to the Kinahan cartel with the arrest of one of their "most important" figures in this country.
The gang's key logistics organiser and trusted lieutenant was detained as part of a Garda swoop on the cartel's criminal activities here.
The crime organisation is reeling after gardaí uncovered a deadly arsenal of weapons, arrested suspected key personnel and seized almost €500,000.
The seizures and arrests have dealt a deadly blow to the Kinahan crime cartel, which has been responsible for the murders of nine of the 10 victims of the gang's vicious feud with the Hutch group.
Among those arrested is a man known to gardaí as 'Mr Nobody', who has an influential role directing the gang's operations.
One Garda officer told the Irish Independent: "He is one of the most important, if not the most important, of the Kinahan figures based in this country."
