Kerry ghost estate of 14 holiday homes sells for €235k at auction

A GHOST estate today sold at auction for a bargain €235,000.

At least six bidders battled to purchase the 14 holiday homes at Annagh Banks, in Caslemaine, Co. Kerry, at the Allsops auction in Dublin’s Shelbourne Hotel.

The development was bought by an a anonymous phone bidder, believed to be from Kerry.

A crowd if excess of a 1000 people packed the hotel function room for the auction, where over 90 properties were up for sale for often bargains prices.

A three-bedroom house in fashionable Killiney, Co. Dublin, sold for €222,000, almost €100,000 less than similar homes in the area.

A mid-terrace building on Dublin’s Merrion Square also sold for €1.4m.

Most properties sold briskly, with bidders coming from as far away as Australia, China and the US.
