Kenny canvass turns into farce
WHATEVER else you may say about him, Enda Kenny is well known for his ability to canvass.
But during a rather ill-conceived canvass of commuters at Pearse Street Dart station in Dublin yesterday, a visiting TV reporter took umbrage with the Taoiseach appearing reticent.
In farcical scenes, the British TV presenter started commandeering voters and shouting out: "Come meet your prime minister."
Fine Gael's press flunky, who has been quick to criticise Irish journalists for their questions to Mr Kenny, stood by and let the event be hijacked. All told, it was quite the farce.
