A LARGE contingent of journalists held an open picket outside the offices of Independent News and Media (INM) yesterday in support of workers from the 'Sunday Tribune'.
More than 100 journalists from the 'Sunday Times', Irish Independent, 'The Irish Times', RTE and other media outlets walked outside the central Dublin offices in support of the 43 employees from the paper.
The workers are appealing to INM for extra redundancy payments on top of the statutory redundancy which they are receiving.
The paper ceased publication at the beginning of February, but an attempt by receiver Jim Luby to find a buyer failed.
Staff received a letter earlier this week to say they would be made redundant from next Monday.
