Jill Meagher is remembered one year on

WHITE ribbons were tied around trees and a garden planted in honour of Jill Meagher, as her family made their own heartfelt tributes to mark the first anniversary of her death.

Her husband Tom thanked all those whose kind words had helped the family through the difficult days which saw Adrian Bayley, a paroled serial rapist, jailed for her death.

"A massive thank you to all of you wonderful people who have supported us so selflessly since Jill was taken from us last year," wrote the Dublin man online.

"I don't know how I would have coped without all of your love and kindness. Thank you."

Thousands are expected to once again march on Sydney Road in Melbourne to mark the first anniversary of ABC radio employee's murder.
