It's an Irish summer alright: Clouds, rain, and humidity abound
YOU can leave the sunscreen at home for the time being as cloud and rain are set to dominate the skies for the week ahead and into next week
Rain in the east and south of the country will die away today and we’ll be left with grey, muggy skies. It will be a little bit brighter and sunnier in the west and north but nothing to go running the the beach for.
Temperatures will be in the high teens and that cloud cover means lots of sticky humidity
Tonight will be much the same with clouds but no rain.
Tomorrow might start out bright and cheery but don’t be fooled - cloud is set to cover the length of the island later on in the day.
It should stay dry tomorrow but the rain will be back with a bang on Thursday and will “cover the length and breadth of the country”, according to a Met Eireann spokesperson.
Showery, windy conditions are for Friday with gales expected off the Atlantic coast.
The weekend then will follow the trend: cloudy, showery, and humid.
Next week doesn’t look much better - the Atlantic will be bringing lots of unsettled conditions our way
Like our Met Eireann spokesperson says: “Nobody’s going to die of sunstroke”.
At least that’s some consolation.
