Thousands of people will have fond memories of visiting Santa in Arnotts and families are now able to "virtually queue" to beat the long wait time.

During busy periods, families have to wait between four and six hours to see the man himself this holiday season.

Arnotts said families can "engage in festivities as they wait" and "a notification will let families know when it’s almost time to meet Santa Claus."

A spokeswoman for Arnotts told Independent.ie that their Santa Claus is seeing over 200 families per day for free.

"Visiting Santa Claus at Arnotts is complimentary and everyone who visits the Grotto will get a collectible 'I’ve Seen Santa at Arnotts 2016' badge," she added.
