Irishman dies of heart attack on flight to Qatar
An Irishman has died after suffering a suspected heart attack on board a flight from Melbourne to Doha, Qatar.
Raymond McMorrow (68) was on board a Qatar Airways flight on Wednesday. Local reports said he began to complain of chest pains, and the pilot is understood to have made contact with an airport in Kerala, India, for an emergency landing. Mr McMorrow was transferred to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
A spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs told the Irish Independent consular assistance was being provided to his family.
