Irish Water publish list of areas to be hit with restrictions tonight as 16,000 remain without supply

SOME 16,000 people remain without water with another 37,000 on restricted supplies as the clean-up from Storm Emma continues.

Irish Water has also identified the areas across Dublin and Meath to be hit with reduced pressure from 8pm tonight, with the utility saying that significant leakage and demand means supply must be reduced to allow reservoirs to refill.

“The restrictions over the past two nights have resulted in some improvement but we have a way to go. It is essential to allow our reservoirs to refill as repairs to bursts and leaks are underway,” it said.

Hospitals are not affected, and restrictions will be applied in the following areas:
