Irish photographic society snaps up prestigious prize
Dundalk Photographic Society snapped up first prize at the 2017 PSA International Inter Club Projected Image Competition.
The Dundalk club is the first Irish photography club to win the prestigious award, with club chairman Damian O'Malley crediting a lot of hard work for recent success in the highest division of the competition.
"All members played their role and the win is a credit in equal measures to each and every member," he said.
The competition is made up of five divisions and Dundalk has climbed the ranks since entering for the first time in 2013, competing in the top ranks this year.The group faced off against 23 world class teams in four rounds, scooping many individual awards.
Clodagh Tumilty, Gary Murphy, Gabriel O'Shaughnessy and Tony McDonnell all enjoyed individual success, as did Mark English and David Martin, ensuring the club was in reaching distance of glory entering the final bout of the competition.
