Gardaí are investigating two robberies in bookmakers shops on the northside of Dublin.
In the first raid a gang of three men entered the Ladbrokes office in the Racecourse Shopping Centre at around 11.00am on Sunday.
One was armed with a knife, while another carried an implement which was used to smash the glass at the counter.
The gang escaped with a small sum of cash in a silver BMW car.
In a separate robbery at around 2.00pm on Sunday a lone masked man entered the Paddy Power office on Strand Road in Portmarnock and threatened staff with a silver coloured handgun.
He escaped with a four-figure sum of cash and was seen leaving on foot in the direction of the Lidl shop.
Gardaí do not believe the raids are related. There were no reports of injuries and no arrests have yet been made.
Investigating officers are examining CCTV footage from each shop in the efforts to identify suspects.
