Investigation launched following discovery of woman's body
Gardai are investigating the death of a woman whose body was discovered in a house in South Dublin.
The woman, who is in her 50s, was living in the house in Woodlawn Park Grove, Firhouse, Dublin 24.
At approximately 1.30 pm yesterday Gardai and emergency services were called following the discovery of her body.
The Coroner and office of the State Pathologist were notified.
Her body was removed to the mortuary at Tallaght Hospital where a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out by the State Pathologist Dr Cassidy later today.
The scene is preserved pending the results of that post mortem and enquiries are ongoing.
Early indications are that the woman did not die violently, and gardai are following standard procedures in the case until the results of the post mortem are known.
