Inquiry into ex-Gate boss is welcomed
The signatories of a complaint against former Gate Theatre artistic director Michael Colgan are to meet Arts Minister Josepha Madigan after she welcomed the findings of a report that found he had "a case to answer".
Ms Madigan said she is planning to meet the women who signed an open letter condemning alleged inappropriate behaviour by Mr Colgan.
The minister has welcomed the report and an unreserved apology from the Gate's board chairperson Peter Crowley.
Ms Madigan said she was happy board chairman Peter Crowley had addressed the content of the independent report.
She said the issues of abuse of power and inappropriate behaviour in the arts could not be ignored.
"I will be meeting with the signatories and the Gate," Ms Madigan said.
