In Brief: Run and walk will raise money for organ donation in memory of Emma

THE Emma Dooley Foundation 10km run and 5km walk takes place in in Ferbane, Co Offaly, next Saturday, June 15, to raise money for Strange Boat Donor Foundation and the great work of the National Rehabilitation Centre. GAA greats from across the country will be giving football and hurling skills courses for children of all ages.

The Emma Dooley Foundation was established last year after the death of 30-year-old Emma in a road accident. Emma's husband Greg said: "Emma's family and I have been comforted in the knowledge that others have had the opportunity to live through organ donation." The foundation has already raised over €20,000.

THE Galway Film Fleadh has announced that Saoirse Ronan will be guest of honour and the subject of this year's 'public interview' in the Town Hall Theatre on Sunday, July 14. She will join a host of film-makers and film lovers as Ireland's leading film festival, the Galway Film Fleadh, celebrates its 25th anniversary.
