In Brief: All-new cast work their way to Grand Canal Square with 9 to 5: The Musical

DOLLY Parton's 9 to 5: The Musical, comes to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin's Grand Canal Square from Monday, January 21, to Saturday, January 26. With music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, the show is based on the Eighties hit film.

The show stars Natalie Casey as Judy, Jackie Clune as Violet, Bonnie Langford as Roz, Amy Lennox as Doralee and Ben Richards as Franklin, plus a full company of actors, singers and dancers. Tickets from €20 on Ticketmaster's dedicated line (0818) 719 377.

Jackson launches Dunphy interviews

JOURNALIST and author Joe Jackson has launched an ebook, Eamon Dunphy Unleashed, which includes a series of interviews he did with the soccer pundit and writer in the late Nineties.

Included are details of Dunphy's strained relationship with U2 following the publication of his book on the band, Unforgettable Fire, which sold over 100,000 copies.

"It was a very bad time; the full weight of the U2 machine fell on me," Dunphy is quoted as saying. The ebook is available through Amazon.

Recycle your Christmas tree

DUBLIN City Council is recycling Christmas trees at 11 locations in Dublin City until Sunday January 22.

The locations are:

Ron Pope in Dublin date on tour

AMERICAN singer-songwriter Ron Pope is in Europe on a 14-date tour. He hauls up at the Button Factory, Dublin on Thursday, January 10. His new EP, Monster, is out now.

Pianist opens NCH concert series

Open meeting on alcohol concerns

AN open public meeting hosted by the Dun Laoghaire-Monkstown group of Alcoholics Anonymous takes place at 8.30pm tomorrow night at Monkstown Community Centre, off Monkstown Avenue. All are welcome to attend.

Rehab Group offers arts funding

The Rehab Group has announced details of its Visual and Performing Arts Fund which will give €150,000 over the next five years to promote careers in the arts for people with disabilities or mental health difficulties. Applications are being sought from people with disabilities working in or studying the arts who require financial support for 2013. The closing date for the first year of the Rehab Visual and Performing Arts Fund is February 28, 2013.
