Alex "Hurricane" Higgins's agent last night insisted that the snooker legend was fine after he was admitted to hospital.
Higgins was admitted to Belfast City Hospital yesterday amid ongoing health fears. His agent Kevin Kelly confirmed his client was in hospital but said it was "nothing serious".
He said Higgins (61) had gone to hospital on Wednesday to collect medication when he started to feel lethargic. "He had an appointment at 2.30pm and they took him in to rehydrate him," he said.
The agent was collecting Higgins from hospital last night. Higgins, who won the world title in 1972 and 1982, was diagnosed with throat cancer more than 10 years ago. He is in remission.
