HSE to review two patient deaths

THE deaths of two psychiatric patients in two different hospitals are being reviewed by the HSE.

One of the deceased was a patient at the mental health unit in Kerry General Hospital in Tralee, Co Kerry, while the other died in the grounds of Tallaght Hospital in Dublin.

Shatter making steady recovery

Justice Minister Alan Shatter is continuing to recover following a medical procedure.

A government spokesman said he was "convalescing at the moment following a procedure". Mr Shatter has not handed over his respons-ibilities to another minister.

Separate sexual attacks 'not linked'

GARDAI investigating three sexual assaults against three girls in a small town say they are not linked. Two of the assaults were reported to have taken place over the weekend while the third happened the previous week. In all cases the victims were under the age of 18.

Gardai in Listowel, Co Kerry, confirmed they are following a definite line of inquiry in relation to each allegation and files are being prepared for the DPP. One incident is alleged to have taken place in Carroll's Yard early on Saturday morning. A second incident was reported the following night also in the town.
