How many cow-related puns can you fit in one tweet? Garda Twitter wins the internet again

How many puns can you fit into 140 characters? And cow-related ones at that.

The crew behind the official Garda Siochána Twitter account took on the challenge with their latest warning on social media.

Gardai are warning farmers about farm-related thefts and reporting 30,000 farm thefts since 2010.

Their clever tweet read: "Wicklow Gardaí steak out to prevent farm related thefts. Warm out but they were friesian." 

Launching the campaign with Crimestoppers, IFA and DoneDeal, gardai are trying to raise awareness among the public and the farming community.

Farmers are being reminded to sign up to the TheftStop scheme where they will get a unique Security I.D.

Members can then mark their machinery and equipment with this I.D and upload an image of the item to the TheftStop site.

Gardai said marked and branded items are significantly less attractive to criminals to steal as they’ll be harder to sell on.
