Dublin Zoo are appealing to the public to help them name a new baby snow leopard.

The young female is two years old, but has just been flown in from the Czech Republic.

And, as bouts of snow grip the nation, it's only fitting that the appeal comes now.

The zoo are encouraging animal lovers to incorporate the leopard's Asian ancestry into her name.

She and a male leopard, Kimo (7) have been paired together as part of an international breeding programme and are already showing interest in one another.

Fans can submit their suggested names, which should be based on the snow leopards Asian origin, to www.facebook.com/dublinzoo and be in with a chance to win a family pass.
