Hotel guests left guns and snakes behind
GUNS, snakes and parents are among the more unusual things left by guests in rooms, according to a survey of 500 hotels by website lastminute.com.
One unnamed Dublin hotel reported that a manager had to phone a guest to remind him he had left his mother behind as he sat in the airport waiting for his flight home.
Among the items left were €200,000 in counterfeit bills found in a Barcelona establishment, a policeman's gun and ammunition found in a Las Vegas hotel and a snake discovered by a Washington room cleaner.
Despite the more bizarre responses, the website found mobile phones, passports, toothbrushes and house keys were the most common items left behind by guests.
