Hotel forced to quieten boisterous rugby team
BOISTEROUS rugby players had to be quietened down as they celebrated a Heineken Cup victory late into the night at the team hotel.
Harlequins players partied through the night at the Carlton Hotel in Galway following their 30-22 win over Connacht in the Heineken Cup at the Sportsground on Saturday night.
The English Premiership champions had been knocked out of last season's compet- ition by Connacht when the teams met earlier this year in January.
But the general manager of the Carlton Hotel in Galway stressed that no damage had been caused in the hotel by the players, who returned to their London base on Sunday.
Hotel manager Shay Livingstone simply said that there had been "some noise issues" during the night
"It was nothing more than we would see on a typical stag night. It just took us some time to bring them under control," said Mr Livingstone.
"The team are welcome back any time," he added.
A spokesperson for Harlequins declined to be drawn on the matter.
"Until we receive an official complaint from somebody then we will not be making any comment," they said.
