THE body of a man lay undiscovered in a homeless hostel for up to four days over the new year.
The man, who was in his 40s, had been staying in an emergency bed at the Back Lane hostel, run by the Depaul Ireland charity, in Dublin's Christ Church area.
The charity confirmed it was carrying out an investigation into the man's death.
The body was discovered during a morning check of the rooms in the 74-bedroom hostel on January 4. He is believed to have last been seen on New Year's Eve.
Dublin's Tara Street Fire Station confirmed it dispatched an ambulance at 8.55am on Wednesday, January 4.
