Holiday balcony fall

AN Irishman is in a stable condition in hospital after he fell 20ft from an apartment balcony in a sundrenched Majorca resort.

The 22-year-old man was on holidays with seven of his friends in the Deya Apartments in Santa Ponsa, on the southwest coast. The man, who has not been named, fell while trying to climb from one room to another on the second floor of the apartments following a fight.


A TEENAGER has been arrested after a 21-year-old man was shot in the face.

The victim was recovering in hospital after the shooting, which occurred just off Hyde Road, Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick, shortly after midnight on Saturday. He suffered multiple injuries, none of which are life-threatening. The teen was being held last night at Roxboro garda station.


THE Irish Coast Guard has launched a campaign to help find children who become lost at beaches during summer.

It is distributing thousands of free waterproof wristbands on which parents can write their phone numbers so that the public can get in touch if a child is separated from them.
