Hoax device found at Dublin national school

Gardai have launched an investigation after a hoax device was left outside a national school in Dublin.

The army bomb disposal unit was called to Bluebell National School in Dublin 12 early this morning after reports of a suspicious device in the area.

The device was found to be an elaborate hoax and the area was declared safe just before 8am.

The school is being used as a polling station for today's presidential election.
