Ho, ho, go: Santas in dash for cash

HUNDREDS donned red suits to take part in the annual Santa Dash yesterday to raise funds for heart disease and stroke victims.

About 800 runners aged between five and 65 took to North Bull Island beach in Clontarf, Dublin, for the 5km and 10km charity run to raise funds for the Irish Heart Foundation -- double last year's turnout.

Organisers said they were delighted with the record attendance this year in spite of the dreary weather yesterday.

Along with raising vital funds to help people living with heart disease and stroke, the third annual run also helps raise awareness of the importance of being active every day.
