Here's what the weather has in store this weekend (you may want to stay indoors)
Friday has signalled a cold weekend ahead and the forecast for the coming days suggests this weekend maybe a weekend for staying indoors.
After a cold and icy start this morning the mercury will reach up to 11 degrees today as rain and drizzle move across parts of Connacht and Munster in the afternoon.
Met Eireann forecaster Gerry Murphy told RTE's Morning Ireland said the weather is due to be "mixed" over the weekend.
"Saturday will mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, mainly in Connacht, Munster and south Leinster, but extending further north at times," he said.
There will be some brighter intervals in Ulster and north Leinster.
Most places will only reach nine degrees on Saturday but some parts of Munster will reach 12 or 13 degrees.
"On Sunday there will be a reasonable amount of dry weather, however more persistent rain will develop on Sunday evening and that will set the tone for unsettled weather between Monday and Wednesday," he added.
At the moment next week's weather looks to be "unsettled" with rain on the way for most days according to the national forecaster.
