Ireland is among the top 10 fast-food-eating nations on the planet, according to new figures.
We forked out €262 per head on convenience foods like burgers, pizzas and chips in 2016.
Ireland is also continuing its love affair with high-calorie convenience meals, with a rise in our per capita spend last year.
Euromonitor International revealed that while Ireland is number 10 on the list of the top fast-food consuming countries, the US is top, followed by Australia and Canada.
Ireland, Finland and the United Kingdom are the only three European countries to make it into the top-10 list, which also includes the United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong.
Pizza was the most rapidly growing category last year, even though it was a small share of the total market.
But the report said burgers were by far the most popular category of fast food in this country.
