An investigation is underway into the suicide of a female patient at a busy Dublin hospital.
The woman’s body was discovered on Sunday morning in a room near the emergency department of Connolly Hospital in west Dublin.
The woman, who was not regarded as at risk of suicide, was due for discharge.
She had been placed in the side-room, used for treatment, because of a lack of beds in the main area of the emergency department. Gardai were called to the hospital around 5am.
She has previously been a psychiatric patient at the hospital.
