Dr Scally to be quizzed by TDs on his CervicalCheck report findings
The doctor who carried out a preliminary report into the cervical cancer scandal will be quizzed by TDs and senators on his findings this morning.
Dr Gabriel Scally's review found "serious gaps" in the governance and expertise at the CervicalCheck screening service and that some of the treatment of women by doctors "bordered on misogynism". It will be his first appearance at the Oireachtas Health Committee since the publication of the report.
Committee chairman Dr Michael Harty offered his condolences to Emma Mhic Mhathúna's family saying her tragic death will overshadow today's meeting.
