€287k spent on under-sixes GP scheme launch
The HSE has spent some €287,000 on external advertising and campaign material for the under-sixes free GP care scheme, it has been reported.
Documentation released to the 'Medical Independent' under the Freedom of Information act shows the HSE paid €6,824 to Serla Print for 150,000 application forms and a further €782 for delivery to 34 locations.
Media company Carat was paid €170,568 for media planning and buying of a five-week advertising campaign, with €71,451 paid to KICK Communications for design.
Figures show that up to 14th August 162,000 applications were received on line compared to 1,870 written applications. The HSE said it was important to provide an alternative application process for those not wishing to register online or who do not have access to a computer.
