The family of murdered Clodagh Hawe believe her husband coldly planned the killing of his family and even calmly transferred money from their joint account afterwards.

Clodagh (39) and her children Liam (14), Niall (11) and Ryan (6) were murdered by Alan Hawe in their home in Castlerahan, Co Cavan, on August 29 last year. Hawe then took his own life.

Clodagh's mother Mary Coll has spoken for the first time about the horrific deaths.

The Coll family believe that Hawe's actions were premeditated. After killing his wife with a knife and a hatchet, and then killing their sons, he transferred money from the couple's joint account to his own.

Her sister Jacqueline said: "It's our view that he planned it all."
