HOLDERS of a cashless parking 'tag' will enjoy half-price parking in Dublin until January 8.
Shoppers using Parking Tag will pay €1.45 an hour instead of €2.90 in the city centre from today, and the city council hopes it will draw shoppers into the city.
The tag is a bar-coded sticker that is fixed to the windscreen of the user's vehicle, and is linked to the registration number and motorist's mobile phone.
The driver parks in any paid space in the city and makes the transaction by a short phone call or by text.
