Gym owner targeted in dispute, say gardai
Gardai now believe that a gun attack on gym-owner Sean Enright was carried out by criminals rather than dissident republicans.
Officers initially thought Mr Enright was singled out by members of the New IRA alliance because of his friendship with murdered gangland boss, Eamon Dunne.
But last night officers were working on the basis that he was targeted over a dispute.
Mr Enright was shot four times in the upper back as he was walking into the gym at Ballyboggan business park in Glasnevin, on Wednesday morning. He was in a stable condition last night.
Officers are looking to see if the attack is connected to an attack on another friend of Dunne, Derek McLoughlin, who escaped injury on Tuesday morning after the gunman's weapon jammed as he was about to open fire.
