Gun seized after shots fired at quarry in 'stand-off over machinery'
Gardai have seized a shotgun after shots were fired in an early morning incident in Co Donegal.
It's understood two shots were fired at a quarry in the townland of Gortletteragh, a rural area outside Stranorlar.
A garda spokesman told Independent.ie: "Gardaí are investigating an incident just before 6am in which shots were fired. A firearm has been seized and investigations are continuing."
No arrests have been made.
It's understood the incident happened during a dispute over machinery at the site.
A group of men arrived at the quarry before dawn and a stand-off ensued, with two shotgun cartridges fired into the air.
Gardaí from Letterkenny rushed to the scene and seized a shotgun.
Detectives plan to interview a number of people in the coming days over the incident.
